Dalla versione 2.2 sono state introdotte delle migliorie per l'utente, questo l'elenco delle principali novità:

Il Protocollo WinBoard viene riconosciuto in automatico, non è più necessario il parametro -xboard.
Il Protocollo WinBoard è stato ampliato con il supporto per la modalità di analisi.
È ora presente un file di configurazione con il quale è possibile personalizzare la dimensione della tabella di trasposizione da 32 MByte a 1 GByte.
Utilizzando il programma in modalità console il comando benchmark esegue un piccolo test da posizione iniziale per calcolare la velocità in nodi al secondo.
Utilizzando il programma in modalità console il comando testsuite esegue un test a profondità fissa attualmente su 3 diverse posizioni.
Utilizzando il programma in modalità console il comando perft [n] (con n da 1 a 10) calcola il perft della posizione iniziale.
Utilizzando il programma in modalità console il comando xboard attiva il Protocollo WinBoard e disattiva i comandi di test.
